    Director

    Originally from South Africa, David moved to Australia in 1997 to pursue his passion for helping Australian pubs and clubs reach their full potential.

    David has over 16 years of experience providing commercial advice to pubs and clubs and is obsessed with the Australian Hospitality sector. It’s the diversity of the sector that he loves most, where people with different skills sets come together to give the customer a great experience.

    In the industry, David is known for his tenacity, transparency, humility and attention to detail. When working with venues, he is meticulous ensuring venue owners are informed every step of the way. It is this integrity which has led to some of Australia’s most iconic hospitality venues to seek David’s advice.

  • Tim Stillwell

    Director

    Tim has over 18 years of experience working with Australian Hotels and is a recognised specialist in hospitality and gaming. At ShineWing Australia, he is the leading advisor to the hotel and club industries and was heavily involved in advising gaming venues on the Gaming Licence Auction Process and transitional issues associated with the current gaming regime.

    Tim currently consults on all aspects of financial modelling, budgeting and business planning, along with advisory on hotel acquisition and sale transactions. Furthermore, he appears as an expert witness at VCGLR and VCAT hearings for gaming expenditure analysis and financial viability assessments.

    Tim and his team of accountants and consultants have the expertise to assist venues with their accounting, tax, audit services, risk management, outsourced accounting and management reporting, payroll, benchmarking and statutory reporting requirements.

    Director

    Freddie has more than a decade of experience operating, analysing and providing feedback on a wide variety of hospitality venues, ranging from pubs to clubs and bars to restaurants. His passion for the industry is matched only by his ability to provide practical solutions in problematic areas, which enables his clients to achieve optimal profitability.

    With experience in rejuvenating tired businesses, improving efficiencies and tightening controls, Freddie understands the issues faced by hospitality stakeholders. By working closely with both owners and managers, Freddie’s expertise lies in providing tailored advice and recommendations to each venue he works with regardless of ownership size, structure or desired outcomes.

    A qualified Chartered Accountant, Freddie is able to adapt his philosophies on successful hospitality management by looking beyond the numbers and exploring the capabilities of the venue.

  • Barry Sherman

    Associate Director

    With over 15 years’ experience as a chartered accountant in the hospitality sector, Barry knows that no two venues are alike and works closely with his clients to provide a tailored solution.

    During this time, Barry has assisted many pubs, clubs and restaurants keep on top of their business by advising on a range of issues, from implementation and maintenance of internal controls, budgeting and assessing their financial position.

    Barry is also a MYOB Certified Consultant and a registered BAS agent. He enjoys watching sport and spending time with his family.
